Old Records Beating New For Sales For First Time

I want to share this post for today’s daily audiophile blog roundup which is about Nielsen Soundscan who has been keeping track of music album sales since 1991. Since then new records top sales every time, reflecting the trends in consumerism. However, this year old records have outpaced the new. The top selling albums are by Guns n Roses and Whitney Houston. This reflects the strong buying power of older Americans who continue to purchase items, especially from catalogs.
