Hi,

I have a space limitation in one corner (OK, all corners…), I have an absorber that is, say, 3′ wide and floor to ceiling, it has 2 layers of rockwool with an inch of space between them and between the back one and the wall. My question is… Would putting a layer of Mass Loaded Vinyl hung free floating either between the two rock wool layers of between them and the wall be effective?

Thanks for any insight.

cheers,
bayard

B, No, vinyl is a barrier technology, not a sound absorption technology. You do not mention the depth of your homemade units. Depth determines the resonant frequency or how low the units will absorb too.
