Sony Corporation has released a software package for the Macintosh line of computers called Sound Forge. Sound Forge has been available on PC’s for years, with great user reviews, and is considered to be a professional caliber sound editing program. Software producer Digidesign has recently been purchased by video software producer Avid, whose future is uncertain, so their currently dominant package Pro Tools may be in a weak position in the market.
