Paul Gilbert’s Three Essential Technique Tips

As a guitar teacher, Paul Gilbert has learned three important tips for reinforcing good guitar technique. The first is to work on playing one note well, mastering all the ingredients that make up a single note. The second is to start slow, even if you want to play fast. Starting out slowly means mastering all the elements of a slow shuffle. Finally, stomp your own foot to keep time yourself instead of depending on a metronome.
