In an effort to stop piracy, the music industry is currently debating over adopting a global release day for albums. Currently, albums are released on different days varying by country, earlier in Australia, and later in the US. This leads to initial piracy. However, in order for this new initiative to begin, major labels and indie labels must be in arrangement.
