Music Brings Memories Back to the Injured Brain.

In a recent study, researchers played selections of popular music for participants suffering from acquired brain injuries (ABIs). The music was chosen according to the time period which the participant would have been likely to be familiar with. They used this data to determine that music can be a potential tool to help patients regain their lost memories.
