Distortion is a tool that can be used in many different ways when creating mixes. Redlight is a common plug in used for distortion. The queue is the most important when distorting. The role of the queue helps with how full, solid, or empty you want it to sound. One sound normally takes precedence and slightly overpowers the other bits.
