A diatonic harmonic interval occurs when two different notes of the same scale are played at the same time. For example, in a C-major scale, the C and E played together, then the D and F, and so on, is an example of a diatonic harmonic interval in thirds. For a lighter, airier sound, play a diatonic harmonic interval in sixths.
