Sony developed a new hybrid camera called the QX100 not long ago but its proved a failure. The QX100 was designed to be a high-end camera combined with the ability to quickly transmit images (nice option to have at live gigs). The QX100 had several design flaws that resulted in it not being a commercial success. Memory and application issues resulted in the QX100 being an awkward camera for most users.
