Today’s software offers the possibility of unlimited tracks. But that doesn’t always make music better. Often, unlimited tracks mean that a producer doesn’t have to commit to a sound. Accord to Daniel Lanois of U2, if 24 tracks is not enough, there is probably an artistic problem. More tracks are not only taxing to comply, but can also crowd out sound and ultimately produce an inferior product.
