Taking advantage of ceiling joists?

Hi.

Working on my small basement studio room.

Before doing the ceiling (yes, 8 feet high), can I take advantage of the 10″ joist cavity above to do any trapping, diffusion absorption ?

I have filled out and submitted your form on line.
