I have about 7 feet from rear wall to sitting position. I am considering building diffusers for this wall. I have purchased the plans from Dennis, but i am wondering if I could use MDF as a building material. If not, what percentage of compromise might i expect to see compared to one of the recommended woods. I am having trouble finding the required wood products. I have a bunch of MDF left over from a previous project.
Thanks,
Nick

N, Do not use MDF for a diffuser . It is too absorptive. Stay with real wood. Cherry wood produces best middle-range tone. Use a QD-13 vertical for your wall. Start diffusers at 24″ off the floor. Extend across the whole wall.

Here are a pair of diffusers I had built by a cabinet maker from African Sepele from Dennis’s plans. The lower section has activated carbon. They look and work fantastic. The downsize they weigh 350 # each.

Liked to have posted a picture but can’t seem to figure out how.
