Hi im builiding a recording studio AND have two adyacent rooms (control room, live room) separated by a single brickwall AND Acoustic Window… How important Is for the soyndproofing to decouple the wall?

I mean, do musical instruments generate impact Noise? Or should i just care about Airborne Noise?

The loudest instrument im planning to récord Is drums

Thanks

M, The term you are searching for is noise transmission. There is no such thing as “soundproofing” Nothing is ever absolute in acoustics. Your mission is to reduce noise transmission through the structure from room to room. Since we design for the highest pressure producing source of which drums are included, we need to calculate or measure existing room pressures if it is an existing room. If it is a new build, then it can still be calculated. We have a program where you take the noise measurements at your facility with an iPhone using our software. You take the measurements over a 7-day time period. You then send data and we design a barrier for you which you build. For new construction, we can also design the barrier using our database of over 150 built and measured room. Both are fee-based services.
