Do you consider this a good tool for designing QRD?

Hi Gary, We stay with prime numbers for our quadratic diffusion sequences. The prime numbers work for the majority of our clients .

Hi Dennis,

It seems to me that you have to consider both prime number, depth and width in determining your frequency-response range, correct?

If I want to be able to calculate this myself, how should I do this?

I’ve found this:

Would that be accurate enough?

Thx!

Stay with the standard prime number diffusers. You can find all of them laid out to build in our DIY build plans . https://www.acousticfields.com…..s-package/

Thank you Dennis! Great stuff..

I’ve bought the plans now.

I’m in doubt if my room is too small for effective diffusion.

I’m building a home theater where you have the dimension 5,1 m x 4,3 m x 2,7 m. I’ve learned that I have to treat LFE first. Planning on absorption on sides and maybe diaphragmatic bass trap in 2 cornes.

My seating is aprox 1 m from the rear wall. Is that enough for a Q7D to work, or how far should I sit? You say 1,5-2 times deepest well wavelenght. Others say 3 times, and say I should go with absorption . I’m confused :) I’ve filled the roomanalisys btw :)
