We want to improve the acoustics of our sanctuary. Due to the large size of the room and the limited budget we are possibly looking into making our own sound absorption panels. The question is where are the best locations for the panels to do the most good. We have some panels in place but I don’t think they are enough and are not located in the right positions. The room is roughly 60’w x 100’l x 30’h. The walls are drywall. The floor is concrete, and the ceiling is exposed metal beams. We currently are using 4 Mackie Thump12 powered speakers (12″ 1000W). They are sitting on the stage currently facing directly at the congregation. I think we need to suspend them from the ceiling and angle them down towards the congregation to have better sound distribution. If someone can tell me how to insert photos to my post I can add some photos of the sanctuary. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
