Hello! I’m looking into building some diffuser units and I’m wondering if anyone has tried using 1/8″ hardboard for the dividing fins and MDF core maple plywood for the faces. I saw in an older video Dennis Foley mentioned 1/8″ would be preferred for dividers but hard to find in maple or other hardwood. I’m on a tight budget and at just over $7 for a 4×8′ sheet of 1/8″ hardboard, that could go a long way while it’ll still look presentable with maple faces. Makes experimenting less nerve wracking as well! Would love to hear if anyone’s had success or failure with something like this.

Thanks!

Hardwood will warp over time thus producing phase issues.
