Will a painted finish adversely affect the response of a quadratic diffuser ? (versus the stained finish I see in AF’s units for sale)

Hi Yacht, Everything affects the quality of sound when it comes to a component . Think of acoustic treatment in the same way as an amplifier or speaker. They are all in the same category. Paint will have an impact on the higher frequency range of the diffuser . Stay with soft woods and just seal the wood against moisture with a clear coat .
