Hello everyone ;)

First, i wanted to say, keep up the good work on Youtube videos :)

Second, i need help/advice with my recent home cinema (i bought the gear, now there is time to do acoustic treatment ). I plan to build DIY since it most economic. Now, i saw the DIY build plans in shop and i am confused on what i need to get. I know that i would build the Bass Absorption and Diffusers , but what i need ? This is my floor plan of my home cinema :

https://ibb.co/gc9zxk

This is screen shot of website … i do not know to download the Project. As you can see, the living room is ”big enough” but i it requires treatment. The other room is kitchen and small ”room’ is balcony with glass door. The speaker setup is not right (these 5 dots) because i could not fit the drawing. Left Surround speaker is between bookshelf and sofa (book shelf can go out of room if necessary ). Speakers are Wharfedale CM 9 AND 9 CM .The good is that front speakers from CM version (3 of the them) go below 100 hz because no ports/closed speakers and they all have 2 6 inch woofer, mid driver and tweeter. However surround have back ports but have smaller drivers so they dont have back bass in them ( besides surround speakers are in lower volume than others and often do not produce loud sounds and they dont cause problem with below 100hz). And last i need to pick a sub woofer.. maybe 12 inch sub will do fine because i own 6 inch one to test the system and it is not powerful enough. Just to notify : I cant mode around layout the cinema for several reasons

This are dimensions of the room :

1. Wall to the entry to the room : 5,75m ( LENGHT )
2. Wall that TV is located : 5,02m ( WIDTH)
3 Wall the glass door is placed ( to the balcony) : 3,62 m ( LENGHT) Glass length : 2,56 m
4. Final wall behind 3 seat sofa : 3,83 m
5. Height of the room : 2,7 m

So, let me suggest the idea i have that i need to i am r”right” and of course, suggest me the best possible solution ?

First of all i would treating glass door. I have build DIY rockwool absorbers for my studio and they are thick 8-10 cm. Now, i am come up with idea to use those to cover glass windows. In other words, i will modify them to mobile rockwool panels that will cover all the surface the glass door. I have them enough and test them and it removes the ”glass” sound. So on the other wall i would do the same, cover wall with rockwool panels to ”balance” side reflections. OFcourse, i would add curtains as well.

Next, i would build the bass absorption units (diaphragm bass absorbers ) that i would take of low energy from the sub . On how much i need them and where to place them i have no idea but i would suggest the front right left corners. Also, i know that would use activated carbon which you sell. Because i not to do buy position to order from you, can activated carbon from other manufactures still work, but not with expected results …. Lets 15% less results. In other words, can i use any carbon instead filling all with foam but combo foam with activated carbon ?

And last diffusion …. I calculated that i can fit qrd 23 on rear wall ( maybe 2 of them if can sacrafice space ) because i calculated the distance from the listening position to rear wall, and it lowest the frequenciy that qrd 23 diffuses, it has distance the wave to fully form (+50 % percent rule). And also… i would put more diffusion on the surround channels so you mentioned that you would flip the speaker and shoot it diffuser , but it depends of all certain aspects (you posted comment of youtube)
.

So, you tell me of what to do and what is best to order to DIY build plans shop ? I like i said, i can not move layout of the cinema (i know glass is causing issues) but i will deal with it. And i would sent room analysis form, but it is complex room.
Thanks

Hi Liggy, You have good size and volume for your usage. All glass surfaces will have to be covered when music is playing. The amount and type of diaphragmatic absorption has to be calculated and designed for. Our carbon technology does not need to be combined with any other material. Diffusion sequences and positions will all have to be designed for. This is part of our fee based design services. You can contact me directly at info@acousticfields.com

I will send email soon.

Yet, you did not understand question about carbon :) I am in no position to make order activated carbon from you. I am outside Uk, even Eu and shipping and tax cost is too much for 350$/ package. I would have to pay nearly double the price.

So, i asked this : Is it ok to go with ”other” activated carbon (i found one for absorption of the air not water which you mention that will not work ) but i should i get maybe 15% perfomance less instead using your carbon ? If it is ok, i can live with that ? In other words… Just usage of activated carbon is best material for bass absorption but i cant expect same results with your activated carbon ? Is just activated carbon from other manufactures is better than no using it at all ?

Also, i posted in other topic regarding my Recording studio https://acousticfields.com/aco…..udio/#p248 . When i write email to you, may be included so i can buy best plans for DIY bundle ?

Thanks
